Old Walls Vineyard and Luxury Lodges

There was evidence of a vineyard on the Old Walls land more than 2,000 years ago. The Romans took advantage of the south facing slopes and well-drained soil, as we are doing once more. Back in 2002 the Dawe family planted the first of our 10,000 south facing vines that overlook the Teign estuary. Set within 16 acres of Devon Countryside, Old Walls Vineyard now offers so much more for visitors. Back in 2017, 6 two-bedroom holiday lodges (2 of which are pet friendly) were built at the bottom of the slope, looking out over the vines. This enabled guests to stay amongst the quiet and beautiful surroundings, whilst being a great base to explore all that Devon has to offer. In 2018 the onsite café was extended and “Regent’s Bistro was born serving locally produced food. This has become a popular dining destination for guests as well as locals. In 2019 “The Vintner Room” was built above the Bistro. This enabled the Vineyard to host private functions, birthday parties and wedding receptions. In 2020 we developed a new up to date website enabling our customers to book lodges, reserve tables for our Bistro, enquire for wedding receptions, book wine tours and tastings as well as simply to be able to buy our wine online.
